PRE & POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
PRE-CARE
Before applying henna or jagua, make sure your hands have been properly washed with soap and warm water to ensure they are clean of any lotion, oils, or other products that may prevent the stain from developing properly.
To achieve a deeper stain, you can also exfoliate your skin prior to your appointment so that the dead skin cells are removed.
Additionally, you can shave any hair from the skin so to ensure smooth and clean henna application.

HENNA AFTERCARE
POST - APPLICATION:
• After application, keep henna paste on your skin for a minimum of 6 hours
• Do not touch or smudge the design while it is wet
• Limit movement as much as possible, especially of joint areas. Once dry, henna has a tendency to crack and flake off which is increased with movement. You want to avoid this.
• Avoid sweating or excess moisture as this can cause the henna to melt and bleed.
• Sleep with henna at own risk; if sleeping with henna, do not cover with gloves or saran wrap as body heat and movement can result in loosened paste that can stick in other places, subsequently ruining the design.

PASTE REMOVAL:
• Scrape paste off into trash can; Do not use soap or water when removing
• After removal, cover with any oil-based product like Vick's Vapor Rub, Vasoline, Olive or Coconut Oil, etc. to create a barrier seal between the stain and water to prevent water from making contact.
STAIN DEVELOPMENT & PROTECTION:
• Any water contact within the first 24 hours can result in poor stain development.

• The stain will start as a bright orange and develop to a deeper brown over the course of 48 hours

• Avoid exfoliation as this will remove the stain faster.
